Idi Amin ruled Uganda with an Iron Fist from 1971 to 1979 and is held responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Ugandans.

What happened to:

In 1979 Tanzinian troops invaded Uganda and Idi Amin fled the country. He was rumoured to be “living comfortably” in exile in Saudi Arabia. In 1998 he had his wings clipped by his Saudi Hosts, being exiled to Jeddah after he was caught organising a shipment of arms to Uganda. In July 2003 it was reported on CTV (Canada) that he was suffering from hypertension and had lapsed into a coma. He emerged from the coma after a few days and then Reuters reported died on July 29/03. This has not been confirmed and the last news has re-iterated his state as being in a coma. Aug 16/03: Idi Amin reported dead and buried in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
