Second daughter of Judy Garland, who got her start singing in Vegas clubs and on variety shows. Always in her sister Liza Minnelli’s shadow, she headed to Broadway in the early 1970s where she appeared in Promises Promises, They’re Playing Our Song, Extremities, and many other touring companies of hit musicals. In 1982, Lorna appeared in Grease 2, the sequel to Grease, but the movie bombed. Her second attempt at a film career, Where the Boys Are ’84 failed to get her any more roles.

What happened to:

In 1998, Luft wrote her controversial memoir, Me and My Shadows, which was turned into an Emmy winning miniseries in 2001. Still active in the musical theater community, she has appeared in productions in the UK and Off Broadway. In 2006, Luft unveiled her one woman show Songs My Mother Taught Me, dedicated to her legendary mother. An album of songs from the show was released the following year.
