John- boy the oldest of the seven Walton children was played by Richard Thomas. Thomas played the now classic role for 122 continuous episodes and John- boy in the movie adaptations.
Thomas has played over a hundred roles not including his work in theatre. Most recently he has taken to the other side of the camera and began producing. Thomas is now a grandfather and lives with his second wife.
