Carole Pope is best known as the singer that fronted the Canadian rock band Rough Trade. She was one of the first out lesbian singers and her lyrics had homoerotic and BDSM themes.
She and partner Kevan Staples won a number of awards and wrote songs for other acts as well as recording their own songs and touring. She has been romantically linked to Dusty Springfield, Elvira Kurt, Bob Ezrin and Andrea Martin.

Where are they now?

Rough trade broke up in 1988. Pope has continued quietly and slowly on her own.
In 2000 she published her autibiography Anti-Diva.

In 2001 she appeared in the Toronto production of the Vagina Monologues. In 2004 she released a solo album Transcend. She appears at Pride week events throughout Canada and the USA.
