She is an American actress and fashion model. She made her debut in the 1984 film “Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes”.
In 1986, MacDowell married Paul Qualley. They had a son named Justin, and two daughters Rainey Qualley and Sarah Margaret Qualley.
Following her divorce in 1999, she had an affair with Dennis Quaid which did not last.
In the same year, she met up with a high school classmate, Rhett Hartzog, whom she married in 2001. The couple split in 2004.
As of the year 2013, MacDowell lives in California.
