Co-starred with Carol O’Conner (of All in the Family fame) as Bubba in the Heat of the Night television series. Also played significant character roles in many big screen productions during the 1980s. One of his more memorable works was when he played a slightly deranged national guard soldier in the movie Southern Comfort.
He is currenly the mayor (serving his second term) of Fresno, California the fifth largest city in that state.
