Lewis is considered one of the first and greatest rock and roll stars His fame began with the release of songs like, “Breathless”, “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Going On”, and of course, “Great Balls of Fire”. He sold hundreds of thousands of records and gained international fame. That fame turned to infamy when it was discovered that Lewis married his 13-year-old cousin, himself being 22 at the time. Lewis was blacklisted from radio stations; his concerts were cancelled due to the scandal and low demand. He continued to perform throughout the years, slowly gaining back popularity but things didn’t drastically change until he transitioned into country music.
Lewis now plays both country and rock and roll,he still tours while catering to a loyal fan base. Now into his seventh marriage he mainly resides with his wife in a country ranch style home outside of Memphis.
