Jody Watley began her carreer as a professional dancer on Soul Train. In 1987 she released her debut self-titled album which was very successful.
Her second album Larger than Life was also a big hit.
She married, had two children, divorced, and released 3 commercially unsuccessful albums.
In 1995 she played Rizzo in the broadway production of Grease to rave reviews.
Destiny’s Child recorded her single Sweet Sixteen in 1999.
