He was an American actor and comedian. He was the son of the singing cowboy star Tex Ritter and the father of actors Jason and Tyler Ritter. He is known for playing Jack Tripper on the ABC sitcom “Three’s Company”, for which he received a Primetime Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award in 1984.
Sadly, he passed away on September 11, 2003, in Burbank, California. At that time he was married to Amy Yasbeck whom he had one child with; Noah Ritter. He also left behind three other children from his previous marriage to Nancy Morgan; Jason Ritter, Carly Ritter, and Tyler Ritter.
