For a time in the 1970s, Frakes worked for Marvel Comics, appearing at conventions in costume as Captain America.
Although Frakes has had numerous roles throughout his career, he is probably best known for his role as ‘Commander William T. Riker’ on ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’
Most recently he has guest starred in Criminal Minds, NCIS: Los Angeles, Glenn Martin DDS, Truth Be Told, and voiced characters in The Super Hero Squad Show.
His greatest love however – other than his wife Genie Francis – seems to be directing; Jonathan has directed several episodes in TV series like Castle, V, Persons Unknown, The Good Guys, NCIS: Los Angeles, TV You control: Bar Karma The Glades, Burn Notice and Leverage. He also directed and appeared in the made for TV movie Truth Be Told.
