Peter Mayhew is a British actor best known for playing Chewbacca in Star Wars Episodes IV, V, VI and III. Mayhew is 7’3″ tall. Apparently Mayhew and David Prowse (the body of Darth Vader) were offered both Chewbacca and Darth Vader and Mayhew wanted to play a hero and Prowse wanted to play a villain.
He does the convention circuit (apparently he charges for autographs). Some sources say he started a timber company, some say a bed frame company. When not travelling he lives in Texas.
