His one and only regular part was that of Ritchie Petrie on The Dick Van Dyke Show, which he handled from the age of six through twelve.
When the child star thing wore off and there were no parts for him, Mathews went back to a civilian life as Larry Mazzeo.
Larry currently works as a stagehand and painter with IATSE (International Alliance of Theater & Stage Employees).
