Playing Skipper in the original Gilligan’s Island, Hale continued to play him in the film and cartoon adaptations that followed the shows cancellation.
Hale appeared in over 200 films and television shows. He married twice having four children with his first wife, he stayed married to his second wife until his death caused by thymus cancer in 1990.
