Robin Williams started out (for me) on the TV Sitcom Mork and Mindy. He since has become a comedy star. His comedic portrayals in many many movies is the stuff of legends. His film career included such acclaimed films as:The World According to Garp (1982), Good Morning, Vietnam (1987), Dead Poets Society (1989), Awakenings (1990), The Fisher King (1991), and Good Will Hunting (1997), as well as Popeye (1980), Hook (1991), Aladdin (1992), Mrs. Doubtfire (1993), Jumanji (1995), The Birdcage (1996), Night at the Museum (2006), and Happy Feet (2006). He was voted 13th on Comedy Central’s list “100 Greatest Stand-ups of All Time” in 2004. In addition to his Oscar, Williams won two Emmys, four Golden Globes, five Grammys and two SAG Awards.

What happened to: Robin Williams

Sadly, August 11 2014, Robin Williams was found unresponsive at his home in Tiburon, Marin County, California, and was pronounced dead at the scene. He had been diagnosed with early stage of Parkinsons Disease and According to the Marin County’s coroner’s office, the cause of death was asphyxiation. It is said to be suicide after also suffering from depression. He is survived by his wife and 3 children.
